CONQUER CHRONIC PAIN
Ayurvedic Diet and Yoga Wellness Workshop
July 8 – 12, 2015
Two Quad Cities non-profits, LIVEFIT WITH LUPUS (LFWL) and Vedic International Institute for Science & Arts (VIISA) are pleased to bring an Ayurvedic Workshop to the area. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means the science of longevity and life. It is a part of Vedic sciences and culture that originated in the Himalayan/Indian sub-continent over 5,000 years ago. This workshop is a unique event bringing to life the practices of Ayurvedic medicine in simple and practical ways.
Dr. V. R. Karuparthy, MD, is the founder and president of VIISA. He designed the workshop to give participants a deeper understanding of their unique body/mind constitutions and simple remedies that can be adopted in daily life. These efficient techniques will move individuals away from dis-ease and toward health and vitality. Dr. Karuparthy believes the time is right for intelligent integration of modern medicine with alternative healing medical specialties such as Ayurveda, yoga, acupuncture, chiropractic and subtle functional energy medicine. Dr. Karuparthy emphasizes that the key is intelligent integration to achieve better outcomes, decrease dependence on medications and surgeries. He hopes this workshop will bring together both modern and alternative practitioners that will lay the foundation for that intelligent integration and collaboration to decrease side effects, complications and healthcare costs in the long run.
Dr. Karuparthy is pleased to present featured speaker Juliet Jivanti to the Quad Cities. Ms Jivanti is a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and a Registered Yoga Teacher. Juliet adds, “I'm excited to be introducing Ayurvedic medicine to the Quad Cities. I've treated over one thousand clients, and many have had life-changing results.”
